Dr. Michael Sheety is the Medical & Surgical Director of the OC Surgical Institute, a premiere eye center with the newest proven technology for detailed ocular evaluations and effective treatment. Complete comprehensive testing is performed using advanced capabilities such as specular microscopy, corneal topography, orbital ultrasound and coherent optic nerve tomography. The OC Surgical Institute located at 2010 E. 1 st Street Suite 160 in Orange County, California.

Board Certified & Fellowship trained in all aspects of refractive & laser eye care including suture-less surgery and corneal transplantation, Dr. Sheety has performed thousands of vision correction procedures. Dr. Sheety has made presentations all over the United States on subjects ranging from laser vision correction to complete ocular surface reconstruction. Additionally, he trains other surgeons in vision correction techniques on a monthly basis, and is consulted by other eye surgeons on complicated cases such as decreased vision, non-healing ulcers, severe scarring, and cornea transplantations.

In addition to using laser technology for vision correction, Dr. Sheety also implements lasers for reconstructive and cosmetic eyelid procedures. Dr. Sheety has extensive experience in facial cosmetics and traumatic eyelid reconstruction. Currently, he is the principal investigator for several FDA clinical trials for new modalities in aesthetics and ophthalmology.

In the surrounding community, Dr. Michael Sheety provides care for adults at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange and for children at Children’s Hospital of Orange County.


Dr. Michael Sheety speaks Spanish, Arabic, French and Vietnamese.


Dr. Michael Sheety was born in Los Angeles, California and has sub-specialty  training in Cornea, laser surgery and oculoplastics. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Unversity of California, Irvine College of Medicine. At Loma Linda University Medical Center he performed a residency program in Ophthalmology and then received Fellowship training at the University of South Florida Eye Institute.


Professional licenses include the California State Medical Board, American Board of Ophthalmology and Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California.
